‘Are You Volleyball?!’ to be screened at Batumi filmfest

Iran short film ‘Are You Volleyball?!’ has been scheduled to go on the silver screen at the 13th edition of Batumi Film Festival in Georgia.

Directed by Mohammad Bakhshi, the flick is to attend the competition section of the Georgian film event.

The film features a group of Arabic-speaking asylum seekers who try to make their way to the border in an English speaking country.

They get into a conflict with border guards every day up until a deaf-mute child becomes a catalyst for better communication between the two sides.

Batumi Film Festival plans to become the major international Film event in the Black Sea region focusing on art-house and independent cinema. 

The event provides an opportunity for well known film makers, producers and film critics to meet and share their expertise and works with other people in their respective fields and gives local cinema lovers and other individuals a better understanding of the industry and it’s people through retrospectives. 

The 2018 edition of the BIAFF is slated for September 16-24 in Batumi.
